Nice D1 Softball story on Keely Rochard

When younger, she insisted on being a pitcher although she admits that she wasn't very good.

“Everyone jokes because I would walk the world,” Rochard said. “But my emotions don’t change on the mound and I would be walking everyone and just act like, ‘Who is next?’ because I just wanted to pitch. Then one tournament it just clicked for me.”

She's also a licensed cosmetologist and does her teammates' nails.

Her dream is to own a warehouse that is split into two parts – an indoor softball/baseball facility on one side and a hair and nail salon on the other.

“It would be cool because during the day the kids would be at school so the facility would not be used and I could be in the salon working and then the facility could be open at night,” Rochard said. “I can rent it out to people if they want to give lessons or rent it out per cage or to entire teams if it rains one day. That is something I have always wanted to do.”

I certainly wouldn't bet against her.

Go Keely!
